    Default OK. This is weird

How many of you have ever found your blade to be magnetic?

I was just examining a dinged up razor and set it down near a beer bottle cap. The cap slid right across and stuck to the spine of the old razor.

    Anyone ever seen anything similar?

It was certainly a surprise to me! Is this to be expected?

    Any physicists out there?

Wasn't one of these was it ?
Seriously tho, you will find some razors are magnetised for whatever reason either accidental or on purpose. It's not unusual.

Some were magnetized when produced, it was a popular marketing gimmick. Some, I have one, were magnetized when being held in a mounting for work to be done on them. The mountings use strong magnets and it transfers to the blade.

All I know is that it's old, German and in rough shape. There's something printed on the blade, but the patina has obscured it.

Thanks for the info! I've had magnetized screwdrivers, but had no idea a razor would be magnetized.

Remind me not to wear my Iron Cross earring while shaving with it!
