Thread: I think I figured the chin out - finally

I am able to shave my entire face easily now except the chin, but I think I've got that figured out now.

Once you've shaved your entire face, minus your chin, make sure you've got plenty of lather on your chin and pull your skin back at the jaw. Shave from the jaw towards the center of your chin using very short strokes in small patches. Right hand on the left side and left hand on the right siide. I would say this is across the grain, but chin hair grows funny.

Again, small strokes in small patches and relather often. Hope this helps other newbies. I think I was trying to do too much at once and was letting the lather dry out. Better soap helps, too, as that lather is important.

I've just been starting to figure this very same technique out myself over the past couple of shaves.

Unfortunately, a got a little slice on the left side of my chin today.

But yeah...this technique seems to be a winner.

To do the right side of my face I hold the razor in my hand normally then face the blade to the right. Then I shave with the blade pointing toward the floor while stretching my skin upwards. I use the part of the blade closer to the tang which I think offers more stability. Try it and see if it helps. this only works on the right side if you are right handed.

Takes a little blood shed for the cause to come to the conclusion the three of us did (and all the other str8 users). Slow and slippery is the way to go. Took me a month to get here.
