joyful new beginnings
Hello forum!! so ive been around for a few months now and i love this site!! the members here are soo helpful!! Ive been meaning to thank them publicly for a while now and finally found the time. Thank you nun2sharp for honing my razor for me you did a most excellent job shaves like a dream. And a very special thanks to janivar123!!!! janivar123 gave me my first razor, one that i will cherish for years too come!! these guys gave me hope, and a foot in the door of a most wonderful new way of life.
now that i have a razor and a job that i believe the wicked smooth shave from my dangerously sharp gold dollar helped me to acquire lol, i have a little extra cash to put towards my shaving kit. so im in the market for a new strop. ive made myself a decent little poormans strop out of some leather i had lying around for some projects, but i think i would like to buy i nice new strop so i can get a better feel for a real strop. to see if mine is doing the job correctly and to get a better idea of how a quality strop is made and what not. so in your opinion who has some of the best strops.
Also i have soap and a brush that i got at walmart, im guessing its crap considering it came from walmart in the isle next to all the disposibles i hope never to waste money on ever again. where might i find a nice brush and a nice assortment of soaps and aftershaves?
thanks for your imput and again a huge thank you to janivar123 and nun2sharp!!

I like my SRD Premium I strop...it was a great improvement over my homemade job that I used for the first six months.
As for the brush, the Wallyworld boar brush is just fine. I've been using mine since I started and have no interest in buying a better brush until this one dies.

Chaos,
Congratulations. Glad to hear that your entry into the world of str8 razor shaving is working out.
Most any of the vendors who advertise on SRP, such as Straight Razor Designs or Vintage Blades have a nice collection of brushes and strops. Personally, I would purchase a 3" strop from either SRD or VB.
As for a nice brush that isn't way expensive...Try this link: Shaving Brushes
