First, thanks again to all who helped with the hard-water lather problem. The lather is coming along nicely.

However -

I've been shaving for a little over a week and have just about gotten 75% of the dominant side - but in the process I've put a few small nicks in the strop. The are low on the strop, on the edge, the result of sliding the razor slightly when I roll on the back edge to make the return stroke. I think I've corrected the mechanics, but alas the evidence remains.

So, if I have a few nicks, how to handle them? Can I "rub" them out - or just avoid that part of the strop - making my strokes storter. Will the nicks damage the edge? How concerned should I be?
