No Pulling
I'm honing my razors and after a few months I've honed it to no-pulling "stage".
Every time before I felt the razor was pulling when I had 2-3 day old beard.
Now I'm shaving every day and enjoying it.
I guess that's what older members mean when they say to newcomers
"It only get's better".

It took me what seemed like forever to get the honing/stropping down.
It was well worth it. I have to agree with "It only gets better". I would like to add to that, "You have to give time, time".
Best regards, and good luck!

Thanked: 77Congrats - it's a nice feeling when it all comes together!
So many things to get right - prep, shave technique, honing, stropping...
It is very nice to get a nice shave from a blade you've honed yourself.
All the best,
Michael.

IME keep at the honing and the shaving and it gets better yet. Between improved technique in both honing and in shaving you can get to the point where your razor will equal or even surpass a Feather DE blade...... sometimes.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

No Pulling
Hello, everyone:
It's amazing how much practice leads to the mastery in every element of the straight razor world. Every day we seem to discover something new.
Congratulations, Goc, on your achievement.

Obie
