    Make sure you whip up the lather real good. You don't want to be shaving with bubbly water, you want a thick lather.

    Only being several months into this myself, I remember well the evolution of crappy to good shave. It really is a great feeling of accomplishment.

    Congrats and keep with it - it gets even better.

    BTW, I was given advice here that how much your face stings when applying the Alum Block after the shave is a good indication of how much pressure you used. It is good advice. I have gone from "Oh my God, why am I even doing this?" stinging, to "Man, I can't even feel this" stinging.

    Try it if you are not already doing so.
