wow!
I am in no way affiliated with Fendrihan.com
I am so impressed that I feel I should tell someone about a recent experience I had purchasing a new strop.... I'm not sure where to put this; the moderators may move it out of the beginner forum. But I'm a beginner and this is my story, so I feel it fits quite well.
Last week I purchased an Illinois hanging strop No. 830 from Fendrihan.com. I had asked around in the forum where I could get supplies in Canada and one of you kindly suggested Fendrihan in Toronto. Well, the strop came in short order and I was less-than-excited to discover a small gouge on the back side of the leather. It was deep enough that there was a noticeable depression on the front side.
Being an absolute newbie to straight razor shaving (this was my very first strop) I sent an email to Fendrihan and asked if this would pose a problem in the effectiveness of my stropping. That same day I received a response from a gentleman named Alfred -- I believe he may be responsible for Fendrihan.com -- who not only advised right away that, yes, the strop was indeed defective and he would replace it ASAP but also said I could keep the old strop and could perhaps use it as a practice item. (wow!)
Well, today I received a parcel in the post and was happy to discover it was my new strop... free from defect and ready to be used! Of course, I celebrated with a shave
But in my online shopping experiences I have noticed that very few vendors are willing to take responsibility for customer questions and concerns. Sure, someone who walks in to your shop is pretty hard to avoid...but an obscure email from someone 500km away does not always elicit such a response.
Congratulations to Alfred and the folks at Fendrihan. Your top-level service has won you a customer.

Thanked: 43Good to hear! I order from Fendrihan fairly often, but have never had to return anything; I'm glad to hear they're as quick to help their customers after the sale as they are to fill orders!
