Welcome from a fellow Brit..!
Its worth checking out Steve Dempsters site (Introduction to razors) as he is UK based and is also a member here, going by blueprinciple.
He sells both DOVO and TI razors, as well as restored oldies, for great prices and they come shave ready as well. I've bought a couple of razors from him, as well as some hones and pins and his service is always excellent.
Also, a good place to start is the SRP Wiki: Straight Razor Place Wiki
Have a read of the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions - Straight Razor Place Wiki) and the beginners guide as well (Straight Razor Place Wiki:Books/Beginners Guide - Straight Razor Place Wiki). Both of these will really help you out!
Welcome again and enjoy!

Welcome to SRP and congrats on the purchase of your first straight razor. As mentioned above the WIKI has some great info as does the beginners forum. Be sure to read the stickies in the Beginners forum. Hope you enjoy straight shaving as much as I do. Take your time and go slow at first and all will be fine.

Welcome to SRP!
I'm curious too. What did you buy and did you get it from the Classifieds here or from a vendor?
