    Unhappy Hanging Hair Test Blooper

So I have been working on my first Ebay special "restoration" (more involved than I thought it would be. Anyways, after honing a bit, I tried the HHT and surprise surprise not a good cut. So, there I got trying it on my Shaving razor, and when I bring the hair down, I missed the mark and caught the edge of my finger.

Fun bleeding happend, I learned to hold that edge at angle away from my fingers during the HHT. Still a noob after almost an year at this thing.

    DOH!

I've been fortunate enough not to cut anything other than my face but I have to say that there's a reason that Jedi don't touch their lightsabers...they cut.

You're certainly not the first one to try the HFT. In general though, the test only needs to be administered once, whether or not the razor passes on the first try!

One more reason to abandon the HHT.

haha.. that's a bummer.. did you styptic pencil it?

also.. is the hht really the best way to go? i have foot like a hobbit.. so i just do i tiny test shave on my foot.. i figure if it can handle my gnarly toe hair.. it'll shave my face like nothing.

    Thanks guys

It is getting better. What is the difference between a sytptic pencil and the use of rubbing alchohol?

    The screaming.

All kidding aside, they are two completely different substances, with many different properties. For a "real" cut follwoing the HFT (I have been there....twice), I forget the styptic, and apply some pressure to stop the bleeding, followed by anti-biotic ointment and a bandaid.
