pateiince and focus are so important to me when shaving. I only been shaving recently w/ a striaght but it seems to be giogn well. I feel when im in a rush it really ruins the experinece aand also i cut my ear (dont ask) haha. so just take your time and focus on what is in your hands and all will come to you . =D

I am just getting started with straight razor shaving also. I think the nightshaving idea is a good one since you can take your time shaving, also any nicks you get at least have a chance to heal over night. But the taking your time part is the key here at first.

Thanked: 0have you looked at any of the youtube videos? that has really helped me get an idea of how I want to go about this. No, I have not even done my first shave yet, but watching maybe...10? people shave has gotten me feeling like I can do this. And I'm actually practicing with my left hand just with a safety razor for now. Just to get used to the idea of using my left hand with a mirror. I'm sure I'd be writing from the grave soon enough if I obscurbed my vision at all with wrapping my arm around. Much props to those that are able to do that...

I actually have taken about a week off, using a M3 & focusing on lather - getting some good results there...
