Welcome to SRP! You have a very reputable razor, which in my experiences with W&B Specials, are great shavers. Your wife did good! No matter how good a shave you get from a razor, it can always be improved, IMO, so you might want to send yours out to one of the experts to see if it shaves better afterward. If so, it will give you a benchmark in honing for reference.

Welcome to SRP! I also missed the corners of my mouth in my first few shaves. I have learned to use my tongue to push out on my upper lip and corners of my mouth to help shave close there.

As far as the wedge spacer being a different color, I have bought some brand new razors where it is a different color.

From the sound of your your thread, I think we will be hearing from you more often. Please keep us posted on your progress and we are looking forward to hearing from you.

Oh yes, without a doubt. I just full shaved with my W&B for the fourth time. Mostly, just practicing ATG passes on my cheeks and sideburn areas stretching, ridiculously low, low angle and trying to see just how little pressure I could use and wipe foam and still see micro-stubble. I thought my first baby-bottom-smooth shave was close.. oh no. Today is the closest yet and my face feels GREAT. I can stretch skin right now dry, and it still feels BBS.

...now if I could just convince my neck hair to grow down instead of left to right I might have the stones to ATG that too.
