Perfection
So today was my third shave with my straight, and man i think i just the best one of my life.
I have shaved with the razor before but it felt like it was tuggin abiit as i shaved so decided to hit the coticule with it.This time taking the time to go slowly and make sure i worked it good. I even taped the spine to make sure the edge was perfect. After the honing i dried it off and did 100 passes on newspaper. I read the post today about the newspaper trick so after the coticule i went onto the paper.
The then of course 25 on the canvas and 25 on the leather strop to make the razor ready for shaving.
Now for the big moment. I had to see just how this razor was gonna stand the test.
I decided to lather my face in sections just to make sure the lather wouldnt dry up on my at all.
I lathered up and started on my neck, swiped the blade across my throat and nothing happened. At least i thought nothing happened, the blade had just sliced right through the hair.
I was as happy as a fat kid with cake, this razor was my new best friend. The blade felt like i was shaving with an eagle father it just glided across my face. I finished off my neck then lathered up the rest of my face confident of the perfect razor that i could make the perfect lather. Of course the lather was perfect and staid perfectly moist and slick even as i stopped to wish my father a happy birthday as he came home from a family affair that i missed.
I loved the feeling of the razor so much i decided to take one of my other soaps and go for another pass to make sure i got all the spots.
Needless to say no iritation no redness and the shave was amazing today as i hope it always will be from now on!
Tools for todays shave were:
Henckels Friodur 5/8
Omega Brush
Trumpers Coconut soap/ DR Harris Lavender soap on the second pass
Victoria Secret Very sexy for him aftershave
Perfect shave and i owe it all to you guys and your help!
P.s Sorry for the novel!

Thanked: 66for 2 yrs I basically perfected my DE/SE handles and now am onto str8's...I would advise against putting any blade on a newspaper as the ink can rub off or contaminate the blade..just a thought..when I learned about palm blade stropping for my DE/SE blades i was advised to always wash my hands before I shave as not to have any chemicals on my hands..heck some experiences guys would say the oils on your hands may do something you didn't expect..it may sound a bit far fetched but you that's kinda why they made strop's for str8 razors and autostrop's for DE/Se handles n blades

I made sure to clean the blade before I used it.
Then again lots of people would say many different things about using the newspaper. I merely saw the forum post today and thought I'd give it a shot. Turns out that it worked perfectly for me. May not work for you but I will be sticking to the paper for a while.
