    Default Transition advice request

I have only recently got into straight razor shaving. I have pritty much been doing it all on my own as I am currently abroad and have had no internet!

I have started with a Dovo Shavette and have been using this now for 32 Days I shave using both right and left hands for the respective sides of my face then switch to shave against the grain. I now only get the occasional nick and am looking to transition to a full straight razor.
I use sandalwood ESO art of shaving soap with a Med Bagger hair brush.

I have read most of the FAQ and Q&A post regarding the beginners guides, however this has left me with a few questions as to what would be good for me.

I have been recommended either a Dovo Bismarck or Dovo ebony are these good recommendations for a beginner both are 5/8 not sure of the grind, and a double sided strop.

    At first Welcome to SRP.
    you are in right place.
who did recommend you that razors is correct. In fact it could be 5/8 or 6/8 as long as tip of the blade round or rounded by seller you should be fine.
You have done great home work i think your transaction will be a lot easier then rest of us experienced when we start to use straight razor.

Not sure I understand what you're asking, but I'll give it a go. Either the Bismarck or the Ebony would be good razors...any Dovo razor should be good for you depending on your budget. If you're buying a Dovo, make sure it's from a reputable dealer and that it is truly shave-ready.
