    I wonder if you can replace the Simpson with a Thäter. But that's a personal preference. The strop will be fine. Just run your palms across it every now and then to "oil" it.

    Thater isnt offered in the package. ill take what i can get for now. all i really care about is the razor and strop. the brush i can deal with until i find one that i like better.

    The Simpson is a good brush. Your strop should be good to go depending on who you got it from. Most strops are ready when you get them. The best way to condition it is like BeBerlin said and just run a flat palm over it like your stroping your palm. Then natural oils from your hand will help condition the leather.     Not to talk you out of your decision, as it is a good one; but have you searched the Classifieds here? May find some essentials at a greater deal?
