Thanked: 16th shave with a shavette
I had my sixth shave with my Focus shavette today. I hadn't shaved for 4 days simply because my skin had begun to peel with dryness and I put this down to lathering my face for longer than normal to try and help the blade glide easier. I had used plenty of moisturiser after each shave but it obviously hadn't done the job (Trumper's Skin Food and Elemis S.O.S Cream). My shave today was by far the smoothest and most comfortable so far. I only required 2 passes to get a smoother finish than I had with my previous shavette shaves that I did with 3 passes. Whether this shave was better due to the blade having more stubble to latch onto I don't know but I only had one tiny nick. Loving it more and more, though I will now only shave every 4 or 5 days or so when I am going to use a shavette or straight to prevent my skin drying out too much.
On a separate point (and this is to fellow shavette users and ex shavetter users: How many shaves are you getting out of each blade? I can only get 2 shaves before having to discard it.
Thanks.

When I used a shavette (always while I was on tour) I got three shaves per blade. The first was usually very aggressive and the second and third were the best of the three shaves. As far as blades, the Derby Professional were my favorite followed by Feathers.

Thanked: 190Persona blade - 4, I prefer only 3
Shavette - 4, I prefer only 3
Feather 5, I prefer only 4
My fixed straight razors are tuned to give me the shave of a 1st shave from a shavette, but offer the forgiveness of a 3rd shave from a disposable blade.
