Thanked: 66less than 8 weeks str8 shaving and...
My tools:
-7/8 AJ Jordan from Mass. (Classifieds from sham)
-Black shave scuttle from SRD
-Black double sided 3" Latigo strop from SRD
-Derby (blue tube) or Caswel Massey Jar shave cream
-Clean rag for cream wiping
I do have thick medium hands so i think the bigger blade helps with holding better..just my opinion though
I tried after 2 days to shave as close as I did previously (an hour in the bathroom) and still find myself myself using my SE handle for touchups
(yes some razor burn marks always shows up thnx alot)...I went for a 3rd pass upwards and I don't think my face liked that..at least after 2 days..3 days is better...but I needed to wait 2 days as I am very busy this Saturday...anyways...left n right sides of my adams apple still SE touching up and few other parts of my face including my chin area
1 pass downward
1 pass upward
1 pass diagonal (right to left while holding blade straight)
1 more pass upward (heres where my face doesn't like it and gets "annoyed")
(ALWAYS feels like I never shaved my 2 "valley" chin areas anything and I know I did!)..as far as my chin "valleys" whats the angle I should be using..I always keep the blade flat as I can on my face and slowly angle it but it's as if I never touched those 2 areas..hmm...sounds like someone is gonna reply...depends on yer face angles..lol...again....to clarify...**this is a mostly 1 handed operation everytime due to my left hand injury at birth....very minimal skin stretching somewhat but don't wanna get white creme on my hand and results in slippage**
Frustrated mostly..but NEVER giving up!

I am a one handed(dominant hand) shaver as well, your post says that you use minimal stretching, I would increase the stretching and see if that doesnt help. Good luck and have fun!

Thanked: 33Hi pcdad,
Just my twopence worth-You know I have tried shaving cream and I found that the shave was just not as good as lather imho.Seems to me that cream and straights just don't go together. For me anyhow.
Also don't worry too much about the chin "valleys",I still have trouble with mine.My WTG pass is so good now that there is very little hair left for the ATG pass to clear, but there are still hairs left sometimes if I'm not concentrating.
This area will get better for you as you gain experience.Just wait and see.
As you say -don't give up.
KInd regards

Thanked: 190You are doing well. Keep working the angles and technique. It use to take me 35 minutes to shave after I achieved BBS results consistantly and now it takes less than 15. The big difference was my technique got better over time and I finally discovered what worked best for my face.

Thanked: 66Well..
Asking me to skin stretch anymore than I can doesn't mean it won't mean finger slippage
