Tampa Area, enjoying the humidity? I wonder if it's so bad up north where you are.
To everyone thank you very much for your comments!
I woke up this morning and most of the pain has subsided. The areas on the sides of my mouth still hurt a bit but I'm going to throw some moisturizer on there in a moment.
I have a meeting tonight at work and I'm contemplating whether I should try to straight and clean everything up, or if I should use the Mach3. Heheh, I looked in the mirror when I woke up and noticed how uneven my sideburns are!

Congrats on the first shave. The trick is to continue to read the forum. It is a long road to a great shave but well worth it. I am about 5-6 months into this and having some really great shaves.

Great report, Karma! (and yes, I read it all). I'm just a few months ahead of you, and still taking it slow, cleaning up with a DE (and sometimes my Gillette Sensor, which has always given me great shaves). Sounds like you got a killer setup to start out with, and have done your homework re technique.
I too enjoy messing with the soaps and creams almost more than the actual shaving. I just shaved with Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar, and got awesome lather, unforgettable scent, and a BBS. Consistency and lather-wise, this cream reminds me of Castle Forbes, though it smells like my old Tuscany cologne. Highly recommended! Try some of the samplers from The Shave Den, a great way to sample a lot of creams and soaps for cheap!
I'll be "getting" my Filarmonica Doble Temple (that I bought here on the classifieds a couple of weeks ago) for Father's Day, so I'm getting excited too. There are many roads to sharp.

Sounds like your having fun shaving.
My first shave was so-so at best. It was making the transition from canned shaving cream, and a gillette, to learning to whip up a good lather, strop, and use the straight seemed a bit overwhelming at first.
At least I bought a shave ready razor, so I understood what a sharp razor shaves like. Take your time, and enjoy it.
