Default 1 month in and first shave with no nicks

good lather (it has taken me a while to learn how to lather soap properly - mostly it's too dry) and a light touch. Not BBS but close. Still shaving left side of face with right hand so that's the next thing to work on if I can consistently shave with no nicks!.

    Brave new world!

    Default 1 month . . .

    Hello, boltonguy:

Little by little you are accomplishing a good deal in the world of wet shaving with the straight razor. You are doing it methodically, intelligently and carefully. Experiment and improvise. That's the best way to start. Forget BBS for now. Honing your straight razor and lather skills are the important elements at the start of this sweet ride. Good for you. Stay with it.

    Regards,
    Obie

sounds like you are being entirely too cautious.
