    Default Mastro Livi paste

I have an old Dovo strop and I have a crayon of Mastro Livi chromium oxide I just got from SRD.

So, I've read about how to apply paste to a strop and I've watched the video of Mastro Livi using the paste on one of his loom strops.

My question is what's the best way to apply it? In the video he seems to have used much more than I've ever seen recommended. Since it's in a crayon form making X's on the strop and working it in doesn't seem to work.

Should I just rub a very light coating of the stuff onto the strop or coat the thing heavily like I saw in the video?

    Thanks for any help.

I believe...if its a paste rub small amounts of it on yer strop(s)...if its a spray..light touches will do fine...again...I'm not an expert but told by a few experts ahead of time

    I have the same stuff.

I just rubbed the crayon over the strop until there was a thin layer of CrOx on there, and then worked it in with my hands to form an even green coating. It doesnt seem to go on in totally uniform thickness and coverage so working it with your hands ensure an even coat with no lumps or bumps.

Its good stuff, but less is definately better than more with paste!

I think I have it on too thick so I'm going to use a pumice stone to shave some off and then work the rest into the leather. It's too lumpy and uneven as it is. I see the Mastro Livi strops and he has the stuff thick on there and I always read to put it thin.

    thanks for the advice fellas.
