    Question Alum.....Lovin it but......

So I bought some shavex alum and OMG what a difference ! First the wonderful tightness and then after the rinse, a little splash O Clubman and then my face feels so incredibly soft ahhhh. But.....unfortunately the plastic box it came in was not in good shape. I currently am using the soap dish but it has no drainage so my alum is gettin a little crumblywumbly roun the edges . Any good ideas for a good storage and travel box/container ?

As long you rinse it off with cold water and dry it with a towell, it'll keep in good shape. For travelling, I just use the little paper box it came in...again, keeping it dry is key. Walmart should have a small tupperware/plastic case for packing it away.

It may not be a perfect fit (alum block is a little smaller), but I would recommend the plastic travel soap dishes you can pick up at most pharmacies/Wal-Marts/Targets, etc.

By the way, I just received my alum block on backorder from SRD, and haven't used it yet ... with your review, I am now excited to give it a try!

By the way ... I like your avatar.

    Thanks!
    Vic

I love the stuff...rub on wet face and let set for about 30 sec. rinse off and apply your favorite brand O manstink and off ya go ! I'ts good ta be a guy !!!! And it also works well for a deoderant.......Just rinse between face and pit use and this is also assuming your using after you shower otherwise consider two separate blocks, iffen ya get m'drift heh ?

    Hello, Nightblade:

An application of alum block after the shave is pleasure. After the shave, I rinse my Hollywood face with lukewarm water; then, I run the Block Osma alum block under cold water, apply it, rinse it again in cold water, patted it dry with a towel and, finally, stand it up in the open plastic case until the next shave. About a minute or so later, then, I rinse my face in cold water.

For trips, I have an Edwin Jagger alum block, which is smaller than a matchbox, and for it, I found a little plastic pin case at the local hobby store. I use the same routine to apply the alum and dry it. When ready to hit the road, I close up the little pin case with the alum block and put it away in my roll up wet pack.

    Regards,
    Obie

Alum block is +1 to what Obie said, you can also rub alittle on your fingers to give you better traction when you are stretching your skin.

I bought some of this. Plain Alum in a deodorant case. No clean up.
