I finally got the nerve up to give the straight razor shave a go. I only did the right side of my face & must say I can tell a great difference from there to the rest of my face done with a Schick Quattro. I'm going to try to shave more than once every 2 weeks so I can get the technique down & actually maybe enjoy shaving.

2nd: My loving wife picked up a blade from an antique shop today. Its in decent shape but its a brand i've never seen & cannot find it anywhere in the Wiki or in other posts here. I'm probably not going to shave with it but would like to know a little more about it. It is XXX Brand, has red celluloid scales and is stamped Solingen Germany on the back end. I tried to search for it and you can guess what came up when I put in XXX brand. Any help is appreciated.

Can you post some photos of your wife's find in the antique store?

Additionally, unless you are already honing your razors you should get that antique store find honed before you shave with it.
