Also I put a drop on my razors after every shave, and make sure the edge gets covered, as that is the most critical part. To do this, stroke from spine to the edge (the same way you strop) to ensure that you don't cut yourself or dull the blade edge.
I apply my oil with a Q-Tip from spine to edge in a stropping motion. Just wondering if it is more advisable to use a rag or tissue?

I've heard tissue recommended, and have used it to good effect (although I often get lazy and use my finger). The Q-Tip sounds like a good solution though. The drawback with my finger is that it is too fat to get in crevices (like near pivot), and may also impart some salt. I've also heard putting a drop on your pivot pin to get between the scales and shank and pivot. All sound like good ideas.

Also, I've heard Lynn recommend using tissue and NOT a rag as cotten is more abrasive and more likely to impact your edge ... so toilet tissue or kleenex is preferred over wash cloth, rag, etc.

How do you guys feel about microfiber cloths to wipe razors dry?
