Golly Glenn you might be one of the better stroppers out there,
yes sir the rumors are out there....
Still the original poster should follow the link to your experiment
and note your once a week visit to the pasted strop loaded with
sub micron abrasive. Hanging strop or balsa I do not
think it matters.

Thanked: 11I read this post a while ago, but i don't think it registered sufficiently in my mind. There are so many other posts that state (as fact) that pastes will round your edge that i think this one post got drowned out.
So far, i am not prone to HAD so i think i will stick with using my philly until it no longer sharpens my blade sufficiently.
If/when i find that my razor can no longer be sharped by paste alone, i will make sure i post.

The CrO paste is also used to refresh the edge when your razor begins to tug. I use it thus when that happens. When the CrO paste no longer refreshes the blade sufficiently it's time for a barber's hone or something like a Norton 4K/8K followed by the CrO. Experience will let you know when to do this. Unless you damage your edge (like dinging it against the faucet, like all of us has at some point), you will not need to put a new edge on the razor for a very long time.
