    Default My new straight razors

    Hey there just thought I'd post the pics of some straight razors I got from ebay. I sort of like the engraved razors and unique razors that are asthetically pleasing as well regarded as good shavers.

    I got a nice example of a crown and sword razor, the scales have been melted slightly though...

    and the Gold Krone which I think is related, if not the same as E.Kron;

    and I'm also waiting on a razor, I don't know what its caled but it has 'Hamburg Ring' on the blade.

    Nice finds! All three should make good shavers as they are all reputable makers. Clean em up,have them honed,and you're good to go.

    I don't remember you showing me the gold krone, but I did see the crown & sword, although that gold krone is very nice, especially like the spine.

    yeah the spine is nice, I was wondering if anyone would know how to remove the black marks on the blade without removing the transfer on the front of it? I don't know if you can see them properly on the pics

    I think you'll have to make a decision on the Gold Krone. Do you want the gold there, or the marks gone. I don't think you'll get both. Even polish wipes gold wash away. It's ridiculously delicate.
    Personally, I think I'd leave it. It's a great looking little razor!

    Ah your right, it would be so nice to get both but, I think as long as its sharp I'll be happy to keep the goldness... mmmm goldy.

    Hey Alex

    I'm agreeing with ben, you've seen my gotta there's a bit of tarnishing but I would loath getting rid of the gold wash so as long as i can stop it degrading im happy to keep it as is, also you were saying your edge is ok, do you want me to give it a pass on the finishing stone and see if it'll pick up an edge for ya?
