Thanked: 22nd shave sure was better
Did my second shave last night and it was so much better than the first. I found myself slowing down and taking my time which made the shave much more enjoyable. I did knick myself once or twice, but no gushers, just a little spot. No razor burn either. 3 passes and the shave took about 20 minutes. I did find that I was excited and really wanted to shave which is odd for me as shaving is something that I normally want to get finished with as soon as possible. I also usually let my har grow for 4-5 days between shaves and this was two days. I had some nice classical music playing and relaxed and was in heaven the whole time. I am in no way good at this right now and I do find myself getting confused on certain parts of my neck and jaw, but then I take a short break and check out the techniques by people on SRP which helps me through it. So thanks to those of you that help without knowing your helping. Oh, and I used a NOS Solingen 5/8 and Art of Shaving Sandlewood pre-shave oil, shaving cream and after shave balm.

Thanked: 2209Congratulations on your success! This is not rocket science but it does require practice.

Congrats
David,
Congratulations on a successful shave! I too find that I savor shaving now. I enjoy straight shaving so much that I want to shave every day. However there is something really cool and satisfying about shaving off 2+ days of beard growth. Decisions, decisions...
Welcome to the world of straight razor shaving!
