Hey Micah,
Don't know anything about the razors but I'm a noob as well. I have found out though that just because no-one's ever heard about a razor or brand doens't mean anything about it's quality. I have a silversteel razor that I picked up in a junk shop by Kaiser? (I've never heard about it either but it's pretty decent.) And another one made by "Krauss"? and they're both nice razors and decent shavers once they were honed up.

That is true. I have two razors (Aevos) that no one else ever mentions but they are two of my best razors. Also cheap...

There were about 10,000 razor manufacturers at one point (when everybody used them). If it's from a German, Swedish, British (the best ), or U.S. manufacturer, it's probably pretty good, assuming it's not worn out.

Also look at the number of pins. The better razors usually had 3 pins not just 2.

Not necessarily true. My Dovo scales came with only 2 pins and they're the same scales that they put on one of their current 5/8 models.

I didn't say that two pin models were bad just that the three pin models are usually ok. I have gotten 20 razors on ebay and never a bad 3 pin however I can't say the same for all the 2 pins.

Thanked: 28It depends on the razor and the scales...I dont think you can generalize...
