Thanked: 1Neil Miller Strops
Hi guys,
Back with another question once again!
I recently bought a pair of razors off of Neil Miller in the UK and whilst browsing his shop I noticed that he sell a selection of handmade strops.
I was wondering whether anyone has any experience of his strops, in particular the 2" Wide Purpleheart, Juchten & Horse Hide Paddle Strop
thanks in advance
Tom

I've not tried them myself, but a lot of guys here have Neils strops and I have heard nothing but good things.
Neil is also a true gent and is very helpful with any questions you might have!
Let us know what you think of the strop!

Thanked: 1Thanks for that, Neil seems to be very much in the know and his customer service is excellent.
I think I will have to pop an order in and give it a spin.

I bought a 3" English Bridal strop from Neil Miller and would highly recommend it.

They are awesome strops. I first started on a Prima Rindleder strop, then got a TI paddle. I then asked Neil to make me an ebony paddle with extra long beds and took Neil's adivce of going for English Bridle and Tallow tan as the choice of the 2 stropping materials. This is an excellent strop to say the least. It is an heirloom for me and an absolute pleasure to strop on. I haven't used the other 2 since, except for the canvas on the Rindleder strop and its leather side is now pasted. The TI leather does not even compare to my custom strop. If you were going to get a new strop and wanted to buy from the UK, I guarantee you that you won't find better. Plus Neil is great to do business with and offers lots of good advice. I'm in the process of sending off a vintage paddle to him to be re leathered.

I have one of his Plain Jane 3" buffalo strops on the way now. Also one of his 1000/6000 King stones. He has one extremely nice Charnley forest hone that keeps calling out to me. I am hoping JimR or somebody buys it and relives of my torment.
On a side note he refunded some of the shipping charges because the weight came up a little less. And that my freinds is how you get repeat business.

BigTom,
I have many of Mr Neil Millers paddle strops, one of his magnetic paddle strops; a latigo, a linen & a double (latigo/tallow tan) hangers.
First class materials, leather & fixings; excellent workmanship; absolutely superb
Highly recommended !!
In addition, Neil is a really, really nice chappie to do business with.
Have fun !
Best regards
