    Default Professional Hone

I'm thinking of ordering the Dovo Best Quality Razor, Half Hollow, 6/8" from Amazon.com. I can't find it anywhere else, and I want the 6/8 & half-hallow, I hear they are more forgiving for beginners, and I'm all about forgiving. Can someone recommend a reliable honer who will do this for a fee? Can I just have Amazon ship it directly to them? And why is it so hard to find a half-hallow blade?

Give Don a call at SRD and see if he has one. Lynn can hone it for you and you get a certificate for a second honing free.

Edit; The sixgun man was quicker on the draw than me.

I didn't see any half-hallow blades there. I'm partial to the DOVO, my family is originally from Solingen, Germany, so I think it's cool to buy the blades made from there.

I don't know but SRD carries a bunch of Dove and Boker as well. The contact on the website will give a phone # and Don can tell you what they have for sure.

He wouldn't be much of a sixgun man if he wasn't quicker, now would he?

Thank you for the advice about calling them, I never would have even thought of doing that.

I have the Dovo Best full hollow. It works just fine.

As stated here, I would have been best getting mine from SRD already shave ready.

It's the same razor that every other place calls full hollow. Dovo's grind is on the stiff side of hollow anyways. Dovo's nomenclature labels it 'Hohl' i.e. 'Hollow'.
