Thanked: 2Forum formatting suggestions for newbies
I was turned off by this forum initially, twice, because I didn't know that you could change the formatting. At first I couldn't find any information because of the default options. If you register and follow these instructions you will be able to navigate the page better. I wish I would've found this out months ago so I figured I'd post it for people.
Opening up the page through will make it so it isn't embedded. This way you will lose the scroll bars that make it hard to read posts.
Go ahead and edit your profile to remove avatars (if you want to), to show ALL POSTS, and show 20 OR 30 POSTS EACH THREAD PAGE. change the default to 'BLUE STEEL'. Doing this makes the page a LOT more readable.
These aren't rules, just a suggestion that allowed me to appreciate the forum a lot more.

That's the way I do it. Good suggestion.

Thanked: 2yeah. i would have been here MONTHS ago but right away i only got like 4 replies to each thread on a page and had to use scrollbars from the avatars and got frustrated. i tried to stick around twice and couldn't do it. I think I was here for a couple of weeks at least before I figured out that you could change everything. I just want to make sure people don't run into the same problems that I did.

Thanked: 2Good God, Thankyou.
I was wondering how such an inviting and informative forum could have such a frustrating setup. This is much better.

Thanked: 324I can't bear using these forums the way they are set up, either. I always call them now directly via the forums2 directory. vBulletin is a very nice forum software - about as good as it gets. It doesn't play nice with Mambo, though. It's been a bit frustrating, but I understand changes are in the works.
