    Smile Oh boy.

Hi, my names Jeff. for a while now I've been talking about how i want to learn to shave with a straight razor, and being the "helpful" person she is my mom bought me a Krieger. I was almost turned off to straight shaving after using this once but i decided to check it out and see if it was the blade or me. and i'ts definitely the blade from what I've read. Now can anyone point me in the direction of a relatively cheap straight razor that i can actually shave with? i don't have a lot of money so the cheaper the better. thanks.

It was really nice of your Mom to think of you.

Nice that you found your way here too. Great information and wonderful people.

If you look at the Classified's, you can generally find something that is shave ready and not too expensive. You can also look in the vendor section and find one of the vendors selling entry level razors that also come shave ready.

Make sure you look at some of the beginner links in the Wiki. Take the time to learn and enjoy. There is no rush here.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

Yeah that is a good razor and holli4pirating is a very god honemeister, so it will be extremely sharp! 11/16 is a good blade width to start out with as well.

You might also want to check out Dylan's other razors for sale on his webpage. The one I have the link to would be a good one too. It is a good Seffeild maker and this one closes centered in the scales. As a new shaver you don't want to accidentally close the blade on the scales and ding your blade. Just a thought.
