I am scared... Instead I will buy a few more professionally honed razors to make sure it isn't my technique.

That's how I discovered how rough I can get with my chin, was to just try it. Always use caution, and go slow and small, but try a small patch. Try opening up a little bit if that's what it takes, or adding a little more pressure. Worst case, you get a little nick. Best case, you discover how to shave your face.

I can't say enough to start with a small patch and go slow.

Not so sure about that, lol. Some guy on another forum recently took a chunk out of his chin. Not a nick, a chunk the size of the eraser end of a pencil.

Hey, if you aren't willing to take any risks, why are you using a straight razor? I'm not saying to just start slicing up the place, but to take small, calculated risks.

I read this the other day and thought about it for a day or so... Last night I actually tried it and had great results. Not a perfectly smooth chin but MUCH better than I was getting previously. Thanks for the motivation; probably would have taken me much longer to be as aggressive as I was. Good advice.

    Thanks,
