I was told to only put oil on razors that are not in use.

Thanked: 0I keep a chamois on my dresser. After shaving and rinsing the razor, I wipe dry with my bath towel or hand towel. I then take the razor to my dresser and wipe with the chamios. I lay the opened razor on the chamios while i get dressed, then wipe the razor with the chamios one more time, close the razor and put it away in one of my mugs. I have never had a spec of rust.
Everybody has thier own method, this is my method.

Even if your razor stains, it should come off pretty easily with some mild polish. I usually just run my razors under hot tap water for about 15 seconds after shaving, which heats the blade, then wipe dry with a towel. The residual heat dries them very well, after which I'll put them out of the bathroom to air dry for a little while. Absolutely no rust or stains, even without oil or anything. I'll also strop them about 10 rounds after that, too, just to make sure the edge is clean and dry.
