Thanked: 0storing the razor
still very new at all this but.. I've made sure to store my razor out of the bathroom (in my bedroom where it is dry) because I assumed the moisture from people using the shower would rust the blade. Today I was thinking man I should dedicate a side of the counter simply to my shaving gear. Am I right in keeping my razor in my room? or just been to paranoide and protective of it.

I'm probably more paranoid than you in that I apply camellia oil to the blade after each use and I store them out of the bathroom.

Hi Lads.
It is a good practice to oiling the blade with mineral oil (liquid paraffin in Europe) after every use and keeping the pivot dry.
All the best.

+1. Same here & I re oil razors not in use every month .
Some lucky desert & mountain dwellers with drier climates don't have to bother. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 983Now that I can no longer class myself as a two razor minimalist, as I now have four razors in my rotation, I will need to change my own storage method of, 'a drop of oil occassionally, and keep em in the cupboard above the sink in the bathroom', won't I?!
Might have to invest in a small can of inox for the shave den, perhaps.
