    Default Problem Area...Help!

I have a spot (1/4" x 3/4") on the tip of my chin that has a scar surrounded by whiskers that are noticeably thicker and tougher than the remainder of my beard. This area has always taken multiple passes of hard going to mow down (str8, DE, or M3 same problem)

The scar does not cause any difficulty, but the toughness of the whiskers does.

    …suggestions?

I have the same problem....I do 4 passes on my chin and almost always nick something because of it. Can't be helped as far as I can see.....but maybe I'm just not good enough.

I'd try stretching the skin from different angles, as well as a dose of facial yoga. If you can get the skin stretched well it will be easier to tackle the area. You might try looking upward while stretching down on the neck for one portion, and pulling from the chin upward toward the ear for the sides. You might also try going crossways on your chin like Lynn does in his video.

I've got a scar on my chin too and for a long time I couldn't get all the hairs around it. The distortion of the skin made the hair grow in all different directions so I couldn't get it with one pass in any one direction. After a while I figured out that I needed one pass from top to bottom and one diagonally from upper left to lower right to get them all. Take a good look at your beard in that area and see which way the hairs grow. Stretch the skin accordingly and don't worry about multiple passes. Once you figure it out it will become socond nature.

Usually the chin takes a multiple pass approach. I usually first go north to south and straight down around my chin then do a sideways pass from one side and then sideways from the other. There ain't nothing left standing after that.

Also try using the heel portion of the blade, it gets less use during the shave and also seems to work better as well.
