Damn NOOB......
I think I am about ready to send my razor in for Honing after about 2 months of use. I am still getting some fair shaves off it but I have cut my strop a few times and even managed accidental to shave a small bit off the fabric side of the strop, Don't Go In Reverse. Sometimes I can feel the razor pulling and my last few ATG tries have ended with little nicks on my neck.
I do have a small strop with .5 CrOx on the Leather side and .25 diamond spray on the linen side. I have used it a few times but not much difference this last time.
Is CrOx suppose to feel very smooth when stropping with it?
The CrOx strop is smoother than my regular strop. I have used it twice. First time was 10 strops and the seccond time was about 15 strops both sides.
Diabhal é .... I mo thuairimse, messed mé mo chiumhais suas!

Perfect example of Slow Down and Read First. I think I'm going to slow down a bit more than I have when I get it back.

If your razor has become dull due to cutting things other than hair, Crox is not going to do the trick for you, that's one. Needless to say, you can strop the diamond spray till the cows come home and that won't improve none either. It sounds like only a rehone will do. To answer your other question about whether .5 micron Crox stropping feels smooth, it might as well be owl poo.

I only saw one question. I would say no. It usually feels dry and gritty. It needs to be smooth though so you might be doing fine with the application. Try some more passes, but don't let the strop sag.

It came already on the leather side and I have some extra that came with it. The person that I got it from put it on prior to selling it to me.
I can try some more passes but should I try it on the CrOx and Diamond or on my regular strop? I would think about 75 - 100 would be a good starting point unless otherwise told.
The razor does still cut my hair and I do get a shave off it, but the shaves are starting to pull a little and I am ending up with little nicks on my neck all the time like when I first started.

No, I was thinking maybe 10, 10, and 10. Start with .5. Go slow on increasing the passes. You can always add more later, cant back up though.

I'll give that a try. I was thinking about doing the 75 - 100 on my regular strop. Thanks

Sending a blade in for honing after 2 months of use sounds fair, depending on how you use it etc...Crox on leather vs your strop, Depends on what kind of strop you have, is it latigo, or sueded type leather like cowhide, like Kenrups, Soft leather like SRD's premium 1, ? compared to some strops, yes, crox on leather would maybe feel smoother in a relative way, it's hard to say...I use crox on a leather paddle, and it's kind of smooth.
We have assumed control !

It gets almost daily use and I use a 2" Latigo SRD Strop with matching webbing. I normally do about 30 - 50 strops on each side before and after a shave. Each side gets the same amount.
The CrOx is on a Dovo Leather Strop. Not sure if that helps any but it feels smoother than my regular strop when using.
