Irony? Coup de maître / Master Stroke...
You know, I've got no problem with the Coup de maître. Despite being relatively new to straight razors, I've got no problem with the upper lip. Frustratingly, the upper lift is waaaaay baby smooth. If I could get my entire face and chin/neck that smooth, I'd be a happy happy man.
It's like sliced butter when I get to the upper lip. I've got a fairly stubborn beard and typically do 2 or 3 passes of lathering up and shaving with the straight - but not on the upper lip.
And, uh, probably more than you wanted to know, but the better half convinced me to manscape with the straight and, ummmm, surprisingly, that worked well too. That's, uh, bbs, but more than you wanted to know.
It's been a pretty cool learning experience so far...
No puns intended, btw...

Master Stroke
Hello, danbrew:
You have easily overcome one stroke that is a major obstacle to many new straight razor shavers. Stay with it and the rest of the face will follow. Don't worry about whether you get a BBS or not. Rather, do the best you can. Concentrate on honing your skills with the straight razor and the rest will fall in place in time. Well done, sir.
Regards,
Obie
