Thanked: 0Um, a question/request?
Howdy all, again. I signed up earlier in the year but due to finances I lost interest in getting into the life, as it were. Interest has returned, however. ^^ However, I am here for another reason today. I want to buy a matching pair of razors for my best friend and his new wife. I know he is interested in shaving with a straight razor, and I know they are both in love with fine blades, so I felt this would be a perfect (late -.-) wedding gift for them. My question/request is this: I would like to get them both fine matching razors with engraved scales to mark the occasion of their wedding, as well as their initials. I found a site, Billy's Blades(?) in the forums, but it appears he has a backlog and is not taking new orders for custom work. So...... recommendations? Please? >.

Are you talking full custom blades here?
I seem to recall that Home can get you a personalised blade
For a custom job waiting is usually needed
Start sending PM to the custom makers you find on this site (you may have to do a bit of looking around but http://straightrazorpalace.com/forge/
http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...-restorations/
And well you can probably find a few with examples of there work....Last edited by janivar123; 10-24-2010 at 03:30 AM.

how much are you looking to spend?
you could also buy a nice old razor and get new scales made with their initials on it.

You might want to find a new pair of matched Dovos and then have them engraved. Lynn @SRD can help with the razors and Tim/Oldblades can laser etch anything you want.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Thanked: 0Hi, thank you for the replies. I am a little confused, though. Lynn @SRD? Sorry for being such a newb here. As for price, I suppose that depends on the price for the blades as well as any etching. *shrug*

Thanked: 3795SRD is Straight Razor Designs, which is a website that sells all things shaving. Lynn is one of the owners of SRD and is also the owner of this forum.

AmbroseShave.com does a great job of refurbishing. Worth a try.
