    Default Slow Healing Cut

I rolled the edge of the razor into my cheek about 3-4 weeks ago and it’s still a bit red and angry. The cut itself bled profusely for 1-2 hours. Is my healing rate typical for a deep cut? Is there anything to worry about—I don’t care if it scars it just seems to be slow to heal. The deep cut I compare it to is I hit my thumb with a hatchet once, cleaned it, taped the hanging flap of my fingertip tight and in a couple weeks it was sealed enough to not need anything. The cut in the following picture is probably 2X the real-life measurement. It's roughly 1" long. I should probably mention that I pulled it apart once by stretching the skin while trying to shave around it. Here is what it looks like:

I'm no expert, but I cut myself a couple of times. it can take more than a week depending on a lot of things:
    Skintype
    overall health
    depth of the cut

It is also possible it'll become a manly scar. it doesn't look infected, that is the most important thing. Lynn has a topic on recovering from cuts and nicks stickyd in this forum. check that out as well

Neosporin, (or it's generic equivalent), is amazing in it's ability to reduce the time for a cut to completely heal over. I work with my hands a lot and healing went from literally 2 weeks to about 4 days. Use it as soon as the styptic stems the flow of blood and twice daily thereafter and you'll be a believer.

You should seek medical attention if you have any questions about proper healing of a wound! As far as I know, the majority of users on this site are unprepared to offer you a medical opinion.

That being said, I've cut myself pretty deep with a razor and it healed up nicely.

Obviously it was a deep cut. Maybe it should have gotten a stitch or two? Have a medical pro look at it just to make sure it isn't infected underneath.

+1 It was one of Lynn's tips too.
