Thanked: 0GENEVA CUTLERY CO GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON STRAIGHT RAZOR
I inherited my uncles belongings which included a straight razor which reads "Geneva Cutlery Co , Warranted Geneva NY USA", & the blade itself is very decorative (Ithink it is acid washed) & ALSO has a gold wash portrait picture of George Washington ; reading below his portrait ""GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON", & at the very edge reads "Registered". I believe the handle is black bakelite. Does anyone have any information on this piece?
Thank you, Mrs M
PS: I AM NOT ASKING FOR AN APPRAISAL JUST SOME INFORMATION ABOUT MY RAZOR
I HAVE ADDED PICTURES BELOW
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP, SINCERELY, MRS MLast edited by CATS; 10-28-2010 at 07:39 PM. Reason: WANTED TO STIPULATE I AM NOT ASKING FOR APPRAISAL JUST HELPFUL INFORMATION

Thanked: 3795Unfortunately for you this forum does not do appraisals. In part, this is because of the number of people who join in here simply to find out from us the value of their razors that they intend to sell.
Regarding the razor, Genevas are excellent shavers.

Thanked: 23I don't see a request for an appraisal from the OP, just a request for information. As others have pointed out, pictures would help, but there are some general statements that can be made. In general, Geneva Cutlery (aka Genco) made high quality razors, so if it is in good condition, it is probably a decent razor.

Thanked: 3795I did not claim that the OP requested an appraisal. I simply pointed out that they are not available on this forum. Since there are several people here with razor reference materials, odds of one of them can provide more information.
