Thread: First awesome shave!!

I had nice shaves, but today it was the best I've ever had! Two passes, WTG i ATG, for the first time no nicks on my neck! Awesome! Very close shave, no razor burn, also lather was the best (i used VDH soap with Wars shaving cream - love its smell ).
I feel great satisfaction because i had the best shave so far with razor I honed myself! I use straight razor for 2 months now It's something I couldn't get using cartridge razor

Today I had the worst shave in a long time

I had finished honing a boker and then tried it out and I had irritation everywhere. I narrowed it down to three things. I didn't hone it properly, I hadn't shaved in a few days (I normally shave everyday or every other day) or technique.

I don't think it was the honing because I did the same as I always do, and it passed the HHT. So I think it was one of the other two things. Tomorrow I'll take my time more and see how it goes.

Hopefully it was my technique as my honing has been pretty consistent lately. If it is my honing then I'm buying a mach 3!

Congratulations. That's what it's all about. There is such a sense of accomplishment associated with taking command of a str8 razor and getting a BBS shave it is hard to describe. Keep it up!
