Thanked: 0Cheap hanging strop?
http://shop.thewellshavedgentleman.c...7&categoryId=2
EVERYONE has told me to buy a hanging strop from Tony. With the beginner kit I purchased I opted for the 4 sided paddle strop. Today I was browsing Tony's site and came across what is perhaps an unbelievable deal! The link above is for a 3" "seconds" strop. What does everyone think about that? Go for it, or..........?

If it wasn't worth buying...Tony wouldn't sell it.

I pulled the trigger on a 3 x 24 the minute I saw the deal. Tony does a good business. His Heirloom Combination is the real deal too.

Thanked: 0If I didn't already have a pasted strop from Tony and another hanging strop I would not hesitate. Go for it. It's a great deal.

Thanked: 0Order placed. I almost ordered one of the high end hanging strops but the cost stopped me, glad I waited.

After many hours searching the net for strops and strop info, sometimes reading conflicting information, my head was spinning, so I decided to ask Lynn Abrams (known throught the net for his sharpenning skills and experiance).
What he said seems to agree with most on this forum: Tony's 3" heirloom (thewellshavedgentleman).
I'm buying one. My first ever.

My 3 x 24 hanging strop in the exceedingly rare "seconds" finish arrived yesterday. Holy cow! It's a big 'un! I wasn't sure whether I should use it for razors or stitch some strops together and go lift weights! I noted but a handful of very minor cosmetic imperfections -- nothing that will get in the way of performance. This is a really nice deal, folks.

I have to join the chorus and say that Tony's second that I got was amazing. Tony's products come second only to his class. Therefore I'm giving my official seal of approval to the business owned by "Anthony Miller, Esquire: Purveyor of Fine Hanging Strops, Paddle Strops, and Bling." (*)
(*) I am willing to share the blame with piper for this one lol.
