Default Going on a cruise...traveling with straights...

I'm leaving for a cruise on Saturday. Will I encounter any problem traveling with straights? Obviously, I will pack them in my checked bag so I don't think it will be a huge issue on the plane...

    Recommendations, thoughts, concerns???

Don't use it in rough weather.

They may confiscate it, but I don't know. If your check in gets scanned, they'll call you aside and give it back at the end of the cruise.

I leave Monday for the Caribbean, I'm taking a Gillette DE.

I can't imagine why they would confiscate them in checked baggage. I'd be more worried about theft than confiscation (of course you will never know which reason it would be). Personally, I don't travel with my straights for two reasons. First, the theft question. And, second, I just don't want to haul the equipment around. My Merkur twin doesn't come close to the straight shave, but it works for the time away from home...

Congrats on the cruise. I don't have any personal experience on a cruise or plane with straights but friend from LI took at least one with him within the last year w/o issue other than he dropped it on the ship while getting ready to shave and broke it beyond repair. I nice large Wade and Butcher! Ouch! I would suggest not taking anything that would cause great concern if lost, confiscated or broken. Focus on the cruise and not your straights. Good luck and enjoy the cruise.

    Thanks Fellas!

I'm actually going to take the Torrey you did up for me Joe. I know that razor will be the only one I'll need for a week.

    Default Luggage tip

When I check luggage, I "lock" my bags with zip-ties. That way I can tell as soon as I pick it up if someone has been inside. If they are missing, I can check immediately to see if anything has been removed.

    Bon Voyage

    That's a good idea...
