Blade oil???

what kinda oil should I use to prevent rust??

I use plain old mineral oil. It works fine.

I use japanese camellia oil but I know other types of oil are used as well.
E.g. I know someone who uses the oil used by brass instrument players to oil their instruments.

The easiest thing I have found to use is baby oil. This is just mineral oil with a scent, and can be found anywhere.

Can you use camellia oil as shave oil?

I use Camellia oil on my razors (when I use oil) but I have never used it as a shave oil. I suppose it would work, although it may be a little thin. On the other hand, it's similar to T&H pre shave oil, so who knows?
