Default Can Strop Linen be washed?

I just got my Ebay strop in the mail. It is in excellent condition but the linen is a bit dirty. Can it be washed. If so is washing by hand with regular soap and water the preferred method? Thanks.

I have cleaned the linen with Goop just as I have cleaned the leather. Rinse it off and dry flat. I like using a blotter effect between dry towels.

I just use some detergent and a scrub brush then rinse well and let it air dry.

Oh hell, what's wrong with you guys. Washing linen? Just buy a whole roll of the stuff from Tille and whenever your linen is a bit soiled, replace it with new (just remember to send your discards to me )

I have used both Laundry detergent and Dish soap to clean the linen sides. Both worked well with a stiff brush. Rinse all the soap out. Definitely had to let dry a few days. Came out looking great. Lynn
