You need to determine which way your beard grows and adjust your angle. I don't shave directly across the grain. I shave on a 45-70 degree angle: instead of the blade being on my cheek going towards my eye, it moves towards the space between the eye and ear. I do shave directly against the grain on my neck. But that is how my beard grows.
I also find that you need to really pull the skin tight when doing the ATG pass. Like everyone also mentioned, you need to get more experience with your face. Everyone is different so go slow and don't expect to get to the Holy Grail of shaves for several months.
You will know when you get to that BBS shave. When you do, you will find it was well worth the effort.

Since blade is from SRD then it's shave ready...no reason to doubt that. Which leaves your technique. Watch the angle and make sure that you have a light tough (no pressure). Blade needs to be (almost) flat on skin when pushing ATG...unlike the 30º or so angle going WTG.
This will click fairly soon...Keep at it.

Thanked: 0To keep my edge fresh, should I use crox spray/paste or a diamond spray? Both are available from SRD and since I had a pleasant buying experience from them I would like to pick one of those up. I have a Linen strop already, and I don't have the experience to lay that blade onto a stone yet.
