Default Got a strop - Now what?

OK, I've got the brush, mug, soap, razor and strop and am ready to go! I just have no idea what kind of hook to use to hang the strop. Does someone sell a hook that doesn't look like something from a hardware store?

Does it matter that much if the hook looks like it came from a hardware store? FWIW my hardware store hook (closed ring, actually) is screwed underneath by bathroom countertop and I just snap my strop onto it and I'm ready to go. No fuss no muss.

I have a glass shelf above my sink. I loosened one side and place a ring over the mount that came with my strop. Just hangs there like it was made for it.

There are some nice hooks im sure at a store like lowes or home depot. If you dont like a basic hook try the bath area to see if they have something nice that mounts to the wall that your strop could hang from.

Personally if I had a sink I could just mount a regular hook too I would, but porcelain isnt very good for screwing things into.

Actually, I don't use a hook at all. I have a closet adjoining my shave area and I lifted the middle hinge bolt just a tad and hand the strop from that. it works great.

My favourite 'hook' is a 'Nite-Ize' S-biner which allows me to hook my strop to the towel ring. It doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it does the job.

    Default Got a strop . . .

    Gentlemen:

I have a simple little hook screwed into the strip of wood between drawers just below the bathroom counter top. It does a perfect job for $1.35.

    Regards,

I too did not want the "hardware store hook" look, so I purchased a pair of brushed nickel hooks from Target for about $5. One up high so my strops are out of reach from the kids and cat. The other one a little lower that I hang the strop on when I am stropping.

My bathroom is so small, I don't have room to strop. I just have a bit of 1/4" rope with a loop on the end that I can tighten around a doornob, and use that.

Leather lace attaches my strops to the towel rail that's screwed into the bathroom wall.

A coat hook or robe hook will do nicely. Many bathroom doors already come with one.
