    Talking Stainless Steel Straight

Just got a new stainless Dovo Straight with woodgrain finish. I will test tomorrow. I wonder if it will shave diferent from the carbon Dovo?

Cool. Which razor is it exactly? Did you get it honed? What strop are you using?

I bought one of Tony's second 3" Red Strops plus I have the paddle 4 sided strop from Tony. The straight Is a Dovo IN OX, Stainless I picked up on Ebay for a good Price.

I don't really notice any discernable difference in the quality of my shaves between a carbon and a stainless (assuming both are sharpened properly). I expect the difference is that the stainless will hold it's edge a bit longer (and of course won't rust). Let us know how it goes.

I am wondering whether the stainless will have to be stropped longer on the leather? How often would you use the linen or the paddle strop?

I would treat it like any other razor. At least that's what I do. I strop it before every shave (20 laps on linen and 50 laps on leather).
