Thanked: 14newb abbrev. question
so in classified. when the seller does not have a "buy it now" button. and people say PM sent at the bottom does that always mean "private message sent" or does it sometimes mean "payment sent" i generally figure the former, but its got me worried sometimes. thnks.

a_macdiarmid,
I would suspect that most would attribute 'PM' to 'Personal Message'.
You can find a list of the SRP acronyms and abbreviations here :

Have fun !

It means personal message.. but I've seen people use it as a way of saying that they wanted to buy something so they sent a PM to commit to the purchase.
But IME it does pay to read those abbreviations, IIRC it can be a bit tough to achieve a BBS shave if you cant tell what the heck everyone here is saying... IMHO the abbreviations can be overused, but YMMV
