    Default Slight Pitting

Hey guys, I just discovered some slight pitting on the tang and angle of my razor. Any ideas how I can take care of this slight problem?

Pitting is never a slight problem. It a cancer on metal and means the corrosion process has eaten into the metal. You can either grind or sand until the pits are out or sand to soften them. It's important to remove any rust in the pits or it will continue to eat away at the metal.

nipper, unfortunately I do not have a camera that takes good close up pictures. They all come out blurry.

thebigspendur, I looked at some of the pics of razors with pitting and rust on them and it doesn't look as bad as those. I asked my dad what he thought and he said it was kinda like patina turning into pitting. It doesn't look like it has rust on it at all, so these next few days I'll do what you recommend and sand it down with a really light sandpaper and see if I can get it off.

You might look into 3M sanding sponges instead of paper. They conform nicely and come in a wide range of grits. A little WD-40 wouldn't hurt, either.
