I read the auction notes and although it doesn't mention anything about it there (likely a reseller) another listing for the same item new states "it is a genuine MASTER CUTLERY BRAND product, a recognized name in the cutlery industry, this razor is designed in America and produced in China." China can be a questionable place for razors. I've heard some reported good (mostly old razors) and some bad, like the one you ask about. I have no personal experience with either.

I believe Bill Ellis is selling a nice Chinese one or he already sold it. I'd buy it, but if I buy a razor that costs over $50, it will be a brand new TI for starters.

Many thanks for the warning! I was about to make that same mistake Ebaying, it looked good on the photo, but u know we all learn the hard way sometimes. I'm kind of new to the straight razor since I only saw it used in the movies and wanted to try it! I got my first one couple days ago but it is definetely not shave ready! Merry Christmas, Tom
